NFA Burger - Dunwoody is a standout gem for burger aficionados and casual diners alike, nestled conveniently inside the Chevron station at 5465 Chamblee Dunwoody Rd. This unassuming spot serves up classic American comfort food with a distinctive twist that has earned it accolades, including the prestigious title of Best Burger in Georgia.
The focus here is clear: perfectly executed smash burgers that celebrate simplicity with bold flavor. Whether you prefer a single, double, or triple patty, NFA Burger delivers patties that are thin yet satisfyingly juicy, expertly caramelized on the edges to create that coveted crispy crust. Their signature Double Cheeseburger with Bacon Cheeseburger is a masterpiece in balance — juicy meat, melted cheese, crunchy pickles, and the subtle tang of their house sauce all nestling on a soft, fresh Liege waffle bun that adds just the right amount of sweetness and texture.
Beyond burgers, the menu offers irresistible sides and unique specialties that elevate the experience. The Tater Tots are a fan favorite: golden, crispy, and perfectly seasoned, they’re the ideal companion to any burger. The “House Chips,” deep-fried in savory beef tallow and dusted with a sweet yet kicky seasoning, provide an addictive crunch that customers rave about. For those with a sweet tooth, the “Schmoops by Jules” cinnamon sugar twists add a delightful, warm finish to your meal.
While the restaurant’s footprint might be modest — located inside a Chevron with no indoor seating — that doesn’t diminish the charm. Several picnic tables under shady trees in the back create a welcoming, relaxed spot to enjoy your meal al fresco. Staff members bring food directly to your car or to your table outside, offering friendly, attentive service that complements the down-to-earth vibe.
Reviews from local patrons echo the excellence of the food and the overall experience. REA Alonzo-Cedano praises the “masterpiece of simplicity” in their double burger, highlighting the perfect caramelization and seasoning. James Grant notes that the quality exceeded expectations despite the unconventional location, especially loving the tater tots. J Vignati calls out the “great cut of beef” and the “extra crispy” crinkle fries, appreciating the charming picnic setting. Even first-timers like Eric Hancock are drawn back for another round, citing the fresh buns and flavorful patties enhanced by NFA’s Sassy sauce.
NFA Burger - Dunwoody is not just a quick stop for gas station grub; it’s a destination for anyone craving an honest-to-goodness, expertly crafted American burger. Its combination of quality ingredients, smart seasoning, and pizzazz—like the beloved waffle buns and crispy tots—make it a memorable treat. Whether you’re on a road trip or local to Dunwoody, this spot is well worth carving out time for a crave-worthy bite that feels both comfortingly familiar and freshly inspired.
NFA Burgers is the place you go to when you want the classic and delicious smash burger. Their menu may be simple for some, but it works. They have single, double, and triple burgers paired with super crispy tots and fries. I opted for the double, and it was a masterpiece of simplicity. The patties are thin and beautifully caramelized with the perfect crispy edge. They're seasoned perfectly and topped with American cheese, pickles, and their signature "NFA sauce", enclosed perfectly inside a soft potato bun. Yumm!!! NFA Burgers reminded me that sometimes great food comes from places you least expect. They are tucked away inside a Chevron gas station in Dunwoody. So, for those who haven't tried NFA Burgers, check them out. You would be pleasantly surprised.
We found out about this burger place in the gas station because it won best burger in Georgia. So we had to try it on a recent trip to Atlanta, and the burger was great. I also loved the tater tots. Only reason the score is a little low is because they have no room, so I real atmosphere. Looks like they are building something, but just be prepared to give your order, buy drinks from the gas station, and go wait in the car for the order. It was raining, so we couldn’t sit outside at the picnic tables. But it is definitely worth trying the burger. And they get extra bonus for having a Ron Swanson burger! Haha. We
My first visit to NFA. I had single "as is" and fries. Burger was okay. Bun was fresh and all you could ask for in a bun, burger had good flavor but was a little on the dry side (yes, I very familiar with smash Burgers. Even so). Sassy sauce was a nice change. I'm going to give it another try soon but I'm more of messy, drippy, burger lover.
First rate burger place inside a Chevron convenience store. Great cut of beef, smashed and grilled to perfection. If you like crinkle fries, extra crispy, (YES!) this is the place for you. No inside seating (duh) but several picnic tables under shady trees behind the place. Really quite charming and friendly and highly recommended!
Worth. It. I have been wanting to try this burger for SO long, and wow. So. Good. I got the Double bc that’s NFA’s signature burger, and it’ll be my go-to. Perfect amount of meat, cheese, bread, and pickles. Their sauce is super tasty, as well. The staff is super polite. They’ll bring your food right to your door while you wait in your car, or you can sit out back at the picnic tables. Such a cool little spot
I’ve heard a lot about this place and decided to stop by for the first time, and i can now say i understand the hype! Everything was delicious. I was especially surprised by the tater tots, I’m usually a fry guy but went half and half today, and now i’ll be sure to order only tots next time i visit because they were outstanding. My only “complaint” if we want to call it that is i felt i could have had more sauce on the side, my sauce cup was filled to a little bit less than half but that doesn’t take away from the food being 5 stars. Next time i’ll just make sure to get 2 sauces instead of one. Overall would definitely recommend!
If you love burgers you’ll have to try. Everyone raves about this place. It’s just ok for me but I’m not a big lover of burgers. There’s always a long wait. They are adding in to the building so you don’t have to enter the gas station to order. Wish they had mushrooms
